LEOPOLD COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRE

To deliver the City of Greater Geelong’s Leopold Community Centre Hub Stage 2 project, NJM Design was engaged by lead consultant Haskell Architects to act as the building services design engineers and ESD consultants.

Completed in 2018, the project is certified 5 star using the green star As Built (version 1.1) environmental rating tool and was built by Lyons Construction. The project is a new two-storey community building and is in a primarily residential area, between Leopold Community Hub Stage 1 and Leopold Primary School in the south, approximately 10km east of Geelong in
Victoria.

Some of the key ESD features are a 45kW solar PV array, a night purge system to save energy, a large shared rainwater collection and reuse system (70kL) and bike parking with end-of-trip facilities. The project construction budget was $10 million.
